Wilhelma Zoo - an interesting name and a wonderful place to visit.
If you are in Stuttgart and have at least half a day free, you should visit this beautiful Zoo.
After you pass the check in, you are faced with a hard choice: what side should I go: left or right. The answer is simple: Any :D
I took the right side, being attracted by the lovely flamingos and other birds that were next to a small pond.
After seeing the flamingos I went to the next part of the zoo, where I found lots of small birds.
It was nice to see how united birds are.
After walking among lots of birds I found one of my favorite birds: the penguins.
In the penguins habitat also leaved a couple of ducks.
I wend away from the penguins and while walking I noticed a couple of geese that were walking down the alley. They were very funny. It looked like a couple from a comedy movie.
After walking down the alley where I meet the 2 lovely birds, I heard a loud noise. I turned and I saw this crane with its wings wide open.
I went further into the zoo and at the end of a pond there was a group of pelicans and a black bird. I think the black bird started posing for me, because when I got next to it, it opened its wings and didn't move for some time.
Next to the pelicans was the seal area, where a small baby seal was resting in the sun.
After I watched the seals play I went into the "Jungle" area.
After getting out from the great jungle I was greeted by a pair of hens. They were the most gorgeous and funny hens I ever saw.
I left the hens behind and entered a place where they had some weird looking monkeys.
Next to monkeys they had to have a sloth.
... and more monkeys.
After I gave the small monkey a high-five I went on to the bird cages.
The parrots from the cages had such wonderful colors. It was mesmerizing.
The zoo even had a black parrot. He was a large one and had a very humble face.
After parrots I found some more monkeys :D
There was even a "thinker" between all the primates.
And then I got the my favorite part of the zoo: The "big game" area, as I like to call it. They have carnivores like tigers, leopards, jaguars and herbivores like elephants, hippos, rhinoceros.
A pack of camels were very friendly and smiled a lot :)
After the safari area I found some interesting birds.
And even more interesting were the "hunters".
I then got to the "bears and others" area.
And then I went to the aquarium and terrarium areas.
The gators were basking like all the other reptiles did.
Before finishing my tour of the zoo I went back to the seals and said bye, but...
... but I found this little guy, that wanted me to stay.
I took some photos of him and then I left the zoo.
Hope you liked the animals and the photos story behind my visit to the Wilhelma Zoo from Stuttgart!
